Last week, I flew home from a short trip to Berlin, Germany that I booked for a total of $27 with taxes and fees. A very good deal, I also had an opportunity to fly home on Swiss International, today’s iteration of Swissair (its name before it went bankrupt and was bought by Lufthansa in 2002). But how was the flight back? It was good, but that’s about all it was. Compared to my inbound flight on Lufthansa, I’d describe my flight back in their business-class product as a resounding “blah”.
The past few days in Berlin have been excellent. With my trusted travelling companion Matt, we’ve been doing typical touristy things to a certain degree — but even more so, have been enjoying the snow, the German beer, the experience, and our stay at the Westin Grand Berlin. Once again, Starwood’s Westin brand contiues to impress.
On Wednesday, I departed my sunny San Diego for the cold – Berlin, Germany. As I mentioned in my previous post, I managed to escape the hustle and bustle of daily San Diego life for under $30 in Lufthansa’s business class on a new Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental, the newest iteration of this Boeing workhorse. However, to say that I was pleased with my trip would be an understatement.
